Q. How do you harness the expertise of an Internet Head of Sales, a marketing strategist and a sales consultant for the high-tech industry?

A. You might like to meet for a coffee?  Contact me  @ 085-1744378

I am enthusiastic and passionate about marketing and sales and genuinely want to see my clients succeed. I work tirelessly on their behalf, and am proactive about reaching out to others in my network when I see an opportunity for them to add value to my clients’ businesses.

I started my career in the early 1990s, as a project manager within the market research sector, from which I joined Signs & Security Ltd. as Marketing and Sales Strategy Manager. In addition to devising, developing, and implementing the company's sales and marketing strategy, I was responsible for the areas of recruitment, staff training, development of the sales team, and the company's human and financial resource management. During my time with the company from 1994 to 1996, I oversaw a period of rapid expansion and market penetration that resulted in year-on-year revenue increases of 25%.

Following this, I gained considerable international experience in the U.S. with an Internet Service Provider (ISP) based in New York called BBN Planet. In this role, I was responsible for managing an account base of over 400 customers that involved sales, renewals, and upgrades of internet services to US corporate organisations. My success with BBN Planet was demonstrated by the achievement of 120% of sales targets and successful implementation of a new renewals process within the assigned territory.

I then returned home to Ireland to take up the position of Corporate Sector Sales Manager for Eircom.net. I was responsible for the development and implementation of the sector's sales strategy, in addition to account planning and relationship management responsibilities. My focus on business development and client base expansion was a key factor behind Eircom.net increasing its market share from 30% to 60% between 1997 and 2001.

I was subsequently promoted to the position of Head of Sales for Eircom.net, a position I held for six years until 2007. In this role, I was responsible for the overall sales agenda of the company, establishing, developing, and executing the sales strategy in line with the larger group's objectives. I was also heavily involved in developing other non-sales areas of the business, including support services, operations, and employee agenda (recruitment, training, coaching, mentoring, and retention). During this period, Eircom.net's market share grew to in excess of 70% (making it the number 1 ISP inIreland) as a result of exceptional sales results under my stewardship.

In August 2008, I decided to set up my own business, specialising in the provision of effective sales and marketing strategies for companies in the SME space, primarily in the high-tech industry where I have developed extensive expertise. I am based in Meath and am interested in supporting companies in the surrounding areas, especially those who are focused on exploring export opportunities.

I hold a B.Sc. in Business Management from Trinity College in Dublin, a Diploma in Professional Selling from the Sales Institute/Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT), and have completed Irish Management Institute (IMI) Leadership and Management Development programmes. I am a member of both the Navan and Dublin Chambers of Commerce, as well as the Sales Institute of Ireland and the Mentors.ie programme. I am an approved mentor and training consultant with the Meath County Enterprise Board and Enterprise Ireland.
